About this tour
On this tour, we’ll discuss Mesoamerican cacao, the ways it was consumed and flavored, and how, during the Viceroyalty period, new ingredients were added to enhance its flavor. We’ll also see various utensils used to prepare and drink it in different countries around the world. Another important aspect is its use in confectionery, where the main ingredient was cane sugar, which was also incorporated into Mexican baking and featured prominently in delicious treats such as churros.
