About this tour
Nestled in the mountains of Michoacán, Tlalpujahua is a “Pueblo Mágico” (Magical Town) brimming with history, traditions, and charm. Renowned for its handcrafted Christmas ornaments, this destination has become one of Mexico’s most iconic places to experience the magic of Christmas.
Our tour will begin with a departure from Mexico City and a stop for breakfast at La Marquesa, before continuing on to Tlalpujahua. Upon arrival, we’ll explore its streets, its architecture, and some of the history that makes this “Pueblo Mágico” so special.
We'll visit the traditional Feria de la Esfera, where we'll find a wide variety of Christmas decorations made by local artisans. During our visit, we'll be able to appreciate their creativity, learn more about this important tradition, and purchase unique pieces.
We'll also have some free time to enjoy the local cuisine, browse the shops, and explore other parts of Tlalpujahua.
Join us for an experience full of color, history, and Christmas traditions in one of Michoacán’s most beautiful “Pueblos Mágicos”!
About the guide
Lit. Paulina Sánchez
Writer and advocate for cultural heritage
I have a bachelor’s degree in literature and specialize in cultural heritage outreach. For me, traveling isn’t about racking up kilometers, but about unraveling a place’s secrets. I see each destination as a living stage: a grand narrative where the streets are the pages, the monuments are the settings, and we are the protagonists.
For me, tourism is the art of finding ourselves in others; that’s why I design experiences where culture, history, and human joy come together to remind you that travel is, above all, a way of feeling.
